CoRTE: a web-service for constructing temporal networks from genotype-tissue expression data.

MOTIVATION: A comprehensive and in-depth deciphering of the dynamics concerning gene expressions is essential for understanding intricate biological mechanisms; for instance, the latter can be effectively addressed via network science, and Gene Co-expression Networks (GCNs), specifically. However, a typical GCN is based on a static model, which limits the ability to reflect changes that occur over time. To overcome this issue, we designed an open-source user-friendly web-service for constructing temporal networks from genotype-tissue expression data: COnstructing Real-world TEmporal networks (

Rationale and design of the Nephrotic Syndrome Study Network (NEPTUNE) Match in glomerular diseases: designing the right trial for the right patient, today.

Glomerular diseases are classified using a descriptive taxonomy that is not reflective of the heterogeneous underlying molecular drivers. This limits not only diagnostic and therapeutic patient management, but also impacts clinical trials evaluating targeted interventions. The Nephrotic Syndrome Study Network (NEPTUNE) is poised to address these challenges. The study has enrolled >850 pediatric and adult patients with proteinuric glomerular diseases who have contributed to deep clinical, histologic, genetic, and molecular profiles linked to long-term outcomes. The NEPTUNE Knowledge Network, co

The use of a decision tree based on the rabies diagnosis scenario, to assist the implementation of alternatives to laboratory animals.

Brazilian federal legislation makes the use of alternatives mandatory, when there are validated methods to replace the use of laboratory animals. The objective of this paper is to introduce a novel decision tree (DT)-based approach, which can be used to assist the replacement of laboratory animal procedures in Brazil. This project is based on a previous analysis of the rabies diagnosis scenario, in which we identified certain barriers that hinder replacement, such as: a) the perceived higher costs of alternative methods; b) the availability of staff qualified in these methods; c) resistance to
