PURPOSE: Selective laser trabeculoplasty (SLT) is a new technique aimed to developed to impact pigmented trabecular cells selectively. Compared with ordinary argon laser trabeculoplasty, it is expected to have fewer complications with more efficacy for open-angle glaucoma. In this study we performed SLT on 17 eyes of 10 patients with primary open-angle glaucoma and 1 eye with capsular glaucoma.
METHODS: Follow-up period was up to 10 months. Average energy irrachieted was 28.14 mJ (0.47 mJ x 59 spots) against pigmented trabecular band over the half circumference of anterior chamber angle.

PURPOSE: To present the results of PC IOLs transscleral fixation to the ciliary sulcus in six years follow-up.
MATERIAL AND METHODS: 152 eyes in 3 groups: 15 eyes with primary fixations of PC IOLs, 92 eyes with secondary fixations of PC IOLs and 45 eyes with secondary fixations of PC IOLs combined with penetrating keratoplasty.
RESULTS: Postoperative corrected visual acuity was 0.5 or better in 32.2% of cases, the most common complications in our material was CME (9.9%), lens tilt (4.6%) and increase of IOP (3.95%).

One- and two-dimensional examination of the lens supplemented with biometry was carried out in patients with primary open-angle glaucoma. Echobiometry revealed a relationship between the thickness of the lens and type of cataract. Analysis of echographic images of the lens and biomicroscopy findings demonstrated the value of this method for the early objective assessment of cataract progress in patients with glaucoma, specifically, after antiglaucoma surgery.

Exfoliation syndrome is the most common identifiable cause leading to chronic open-angle glaucoma. It affects the treatment of glaucoma in various ways. The prognosis of capsular glaucoma (exfoliative glaucoma) is worse than that of open-angle glaucoma. Medical therapy and the long-term effect of laser treatment seem to be unsatisfactory in capsular glaucoma. An extracapsular cataract extraction (ECCE) with posterior-chamber-IOL was performed in 21 eyes of 20 patients with primary angle closure glaucoma (PACG; 2 suspects, 5 acute PACG, 14 chronic PACG). The ECCE was performed to improve the IOP. In 14 cases the ECCE was done in lieu of a filtering procedure. After the ECCE the anterior chamber deepened. We examined five patients with Down's syndrome and bilateral infantile glaucoma.
