A prospective study was performed to determine the effect of a ligament augmentation device (LAD) on the replacement of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) using tendon allografts. Twenty-five patients were followed for 66 to 98 months after tendon allograft replacement with LAD reinforcement for ACL rupture. The evaluation was done using the form of the International Knee Documentation Committee (IKDC), the Lysholm score and the Tegner scale. Two patients sustained a rerupture after major injury. PURPOSE: We report our experience of resecting sternal tumors, followed by reconstruction of the skeletal and soft-tissue defects, and discuss the usefulness of sandwiched Marlex and stainless-steel mesh.
METHODS: Fifteen patients underwent resection of a sternal tumor and chest wall reconstruction with autologous bone grafts, sandwiched Marlex and stainless-steel mesh or a titanium plate, and musculocutaneous flaps. The sternal tumors were from locally recurrent breast carcinoma in ten patients, metastasis from other organs in three, and primary chondrosarcoma in two.

INTRODUCTION AND HYPOTHESIS: The aim of this study was to examine the anatomical and functional results of prolapse repair by a vaginal approach using the Elevate kit.
METHODS: This was a prospective study of 70 patients presenting with symptomatic urogenital prolapse. Twenty Elevate Anterior, 16 Posterior, and 34 Anterior and Posterior repair systems were placed. The bladder neck fascial sling may become a more popular procedure if surgical modifications could ensure more rapid postoperative voiding, yet not compromising the 85% long-term cure rate. In a study of 80 women, we found that increasing the distance from the Prolene knot to the rectus fascia, while simultaneously observing the closure of the bladder neck with a cystoscope, resulted in 92% of women voiding the same day and 93% experiencing no stress incontinence at 1 year.
