Immunoglobulin G4-related disease (IgG4-RD) is a chronic multi-organic immune fibrosing disease. It affects preferentially men around middle age and almost any organs can be involved; however, lymph nodes, submandibular and lacrimal glands, pancreas, and retroperitoneum are the most affected. BACKGROUND: Even though IgG4-related disease has gained increased attention worldwide, the diagnosis remains challenging. INTRODUCTION: Immediate-release (IR) pramipexole dihydrochloride is indicated for the treatment of signs and symptoms of idiopathic Parkinson's disease (PD). It is administered alone (without levodopa) or in combination with levodopa, during the entire progress of the disease, up to an advanced stage. Currently, it is also indicated for the treatment of moderate-to-severe primary restless legs syndrome (RLS). An extended-release (ER) formulation of pramipexole has been developed to allow a once-daily administration and to provide more stable dopaminergic stimulation in PD patients.

IgG4-related disease has been identified in various organs, but whether or not there are organ-specific characteristics related to the etiologic factors is still unknown. Here, we carried out a cross-sectional study of 114 patients with IgG4-related disease. MATERIAL AND METHODS: Retrospective study of a large cohort of 668 consecutive patients with sarcoidosis prospectively collected during 42 years at the Bellvitge University Hospital, a tertiary care single-centre in Barcelona, Spain. The term autoimmune pancreatitis (AIP) was first used in Japan in 1995 to describe a newly recognized form of chronic pancreatitis, after the description of Yoshida and colleagues. But Sarles in 1961, first described a form of idiopathic chronic inflammatory sclerosis of the pancreas, suspected to be due to an autoimmune process.
