The radiosensitivity of four human B-lymphocytic lymphoma cell lines has been studied. For all lines the Do values were in the range 1.3 to 1.8 Gy. None of the survival curves had an appreciable shoulder. The extrapolation numbers varied in the range 1.0 to 1.2. Thus, the cell lines had a low capacity to accumulate sublethal damage. Furthermore, split dose experiments showed that no line had the capacity to repair sublethal damage. In 12 children with infectious mononucleosis the peripheral blood T- and B-lymphocytes were studied and compared to a control group of 26 children, aged 2 to 13 years, without any infection. BACKGROUND: An 8.8-year-old male neutered Persian cat was presented with a history of recent intermittent mild lethargy, hyporexia, and weight loss. Physical examination revealed pale mucous membranes, an enlarged right mandibular lymph node, and organomegaly suspected to be an enlarged spleen. A CBC showed an extreme leukocytosis composed almost exclusively of small lymphocytes and a moderate, microcytic, slightly regenerative anemia.
OBJECTIVES: We aimed to diagnose the cause of the extreme leukocytosis, to classify the circulating leukocytes, and to determine the response to therapy.

We have investigated the immune responses in vitro of uraemic patients undergoing regular haemodialysis or continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis. Renal failure due to combined acute interstitial nephritis and minimal-change glomerulopathy is reported in two patients after fenoprofen therapy. In the interstitial infiltrates, T lymphocytes predominated over B lymphocytes in a ratio of four to one. The majority of B lymphocytes present were IgE-bearing cells. Fifteen cases of histologically proven hairy-cell leukaemia (HCL) were studied with immunofluorescence, rosette, and phagocytosis techniques. Suramin, a drug against trypanosomiasis and onchocerciasis, stimulates in vitro mouse B-lymphocytes to transform into blastcells, to incorporate 3H-thymidine and to go into mitosis. Thymus cells (hydro-cortisone-sensitive or resistant) do not respond whereas cells from homozygous nude mice are stimulated. T and B lymphocyte rosetting values were obtained for 18 children with kwashiorkor, marasmus, or nutritional edema. T cell values were subnormal in all malnutrition classes, but were lowest in children with kwashiorkor. Four of five malnourished children who were sensitized with 2,4-dinitrochlorobenzene (DNCB) before refeeding failed to respond to repeated subsequent challenges; five of six children who were sensitized after refeeding responded strongly to the first challenge.

The article presents a case of 57-year-old woman with the infiltration of rare small lymphocytic B cell lymphoma in the thyroid gland. Initially, the patient was followed-up due to chronic lymphocytic B-cell leukemia diagnosed on the basis of histopathological examination of cervical lymph node.
