Separation of triglyceride and diglyceride positional isomers by silver ion high-performance liquid chromatography coupled with an evaporative light-scattering detector is described. Phosphoproteins and phosphoamino acids bind to ferric ions immobilized on iminodiacetate-agarose gel and can be eluted by increasing pH or by introducing phosphate ions to the eluant. Some other metals were found to resemble iron with regard to the interaction with protein-bound phosphate and phosphoamino acids. These observations were utilized to develop purification procedures for phosphoproteins. Hen egg albumin (ovalbumin) was fractionated into three components of varying phosphate contents. Porcine pepsin was purified in a similar manner.

The data on the study of the protective activity of theta hemolysin and Cl. perfringens lecithinase preparations and the corresponding antitoxic sera obtained by indirect immune affinity chromatography are presented. Experiments in mice and guinea pigs indicate that the injection of antihemolytic serum and immunization with anatheta hemolysin ensures the protection of the animals from theta toxin. The enrichment of analecithinase preparation with anatheta hemolysin has been found to increase its protective properties against Cl. perfringens culture and toxin.

Uranium(VI) can be separated quantitatively from most other metal ions by partition chromatography on a silica-gel column. The column is treated with aqueous 6M nitric acid; after sorption of the sample, uranium(VI) is selectively and rapidly eluted by methyl isobutyl ketone. In addition to the separation of macro quantities of metal ions, the method has been used successfully for the isolation of trace amounts of metal ions from uranium(VI).
