The objective of this case report is to discuss the successful postoperative analgesic management in a patient who had disseminated rectal cancer pain and failed to obtain pain relief despite high-dose intravenous hydromorphone. INTRODUCTION: Vertebral hemangiomas are benign vascular tumours of the bony spine which are usually asymptomatic. Pregnancy-related anatomical and hormonal changes may lead to expansion of hemangiomas and development of neurological symptoms. A 55-year-old female patient was scheduled for laparoscopic adrenal surgery. In the operating room, anesthesia was induced with propofol and maintained with nitrous oxide/sevoflurane and epidural anesthesia. The operation was completed uneventfully.
