PURPOSE: Beginning in 2025, Outpatient and Ambulatory Surgery Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (OAS CAHPS), became mandatory reporting for outpatient services. Facilities accepting Medicare and Medicaid payments, stand to lose 2% of reimbursement if they fail to report OAS CAHPS scores. January 2025, our community hospital OAS CAHPS score for the benchmark question "Likelihood to Recommend" was 93.7%, with a peer group rank of 13. This was near bottom-decile performance and considered below expectations.
