PURPOSE: Primary mucinous adenocarcinoma of the vagina is a rare disease which is characterized by aggressiveness and poor prognosis because of its rapid growth and recurrence, its frequent distant metastases, and its relative resistance to conventional treatment modalities including surgery, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy. Mucin deposit is a feature that is not commonly mentioned in textbooks when talking about rosacea. Nevertheless, it is one of the prominent findings of a severe variant of the phymatous type of rosacea known as the fibrous type. We retrospectively investigated 20 cases of early stages of rosacea and examined the mucin deposit in them, with histochemical stains (Alcian Blue and Periodic Acid-Schiff). Intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm (IPMN) is characterized by enhanced mucus secretion. BACKGROUND: Mucin-producing cystic neoplasms of the pancreas account for 1% of all malignant tumors of the pancreas. They include mucinous cystic neoplasms (MCNs) and mucinous ductal ectasia (MDE), also known as intraductal mucin-hypersecreting neoplasms.

Calcification is rarely seen in cholangiocellular carcinoma. We herein report the case of a 53 year-old man with calcification in a cholangiocellular carcinoma. Because imaging studies had revealed coarse calcified foci, hepatolithiasis was suspected pre-operatively. The patient underwent a laparotomy in which intra-operative cholangioscopy revealed no gallstones but did reveal an unsuspected tumor with abundant mucin. PURPOSE: Pancreatic mucinous ductal ectasia (MDE) is a recently described and poorly understood disorder, with few cases reported in the imaging literature. We undertook this study to describe the spectrum of CT and pancreatographic findings of MDE and to investigate the incidence of associated pancreatic malignancy.

A case of metastatic mucinous adenocarcinoma to the heart is described. The patient presented with neurological symptoms consistent with an embolic cerebrovascular accident. Evaluation by the referring cardiologist at that time showed what appeared to be a left atrial myxoma. In a review of the English language medical literature, no other case of this nature was found.

Three cases of primary cutaneous mucinous carcinoma of sweat gland origin are presented. Patients were a 47-year-old man and 2 females aged 70 and 71 years. The clinical and pathologic features of the described tumors were similar to those reported in the literature, except for 2 of the involved sites (abdominal skin and vulva), not previously described.
