PURPOSE: The aim of this study was to assess the screenees' knowledge on prostate cancer and attitude to PSA screening using the Fact Sheet from one district, Kyoto, Japan.

Clinical decision-making in patients with pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors is complex. Frequent comorbidities of DMDD include oppositional defiant disorder and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder. In our cohort of 20,947 infants aged 60 days or younger, cerebrospinal fluid Gram stain had a sensitivity of 34.3% (95% confidence interval, 28.1%-41.1%) and a positive predictive value of 61.4% (95% confidence interval, 52.2%-69.8%) for positive cerebrospinal fluid culture, suggesting that Gram stain alone may lead to both underdiagnosis and overdiagnosis of bacterial meningitis.

Synovial chondromatosis is a benign, chronic, progressive synovial metaplasia that will not resolve spontaneously. Although it is non-neoplastic, the condition can easily be mistaken histologically as malignant. One Chinese male patient with synovial chondromatosis of the temporomandibular joint is described. Awareness of this rare lesion is important to prevent overdiagnosis and radical treatment. Treatment consists of synovectomy and removal of loose bodies within the joint space.

An analysis of the rate at which asymptomatic problems are diagnosed, missed, and overdiagnosed in a total population of pregnant women attending specialists and general practitioners for antenatal care indicated that detection of some problems is incomplete and that overdiagnosis is common. The productivity of routine antenatal care in respect of prediction and detection of obstetric problems is extremely low, and it is suggested that the number of visits for this purpose could be considerably reduced for women without special problems.
