The E rosette test was made at 35 women with disturbances in early pregnancy (gestational weeks 8 to 12). 61 women with normal pregnancy and 33 nonpregnant women were taken as control persons. The monoclonal antibody RFB1, which reacts with early haemopoietic precursors in human bone marrow and peripheral T-lymphocytes, but not with pre-B cells and mature peripheral blood and marrow B lymphocytes, was tested in blood from 60 patients with chronic B cell leukaemias. Binding of human circulating T cells to established normal and malignant B cell lines results in rosette formation. Blood and lymph node T-lymphocyte subpopulations have been studied in untreated non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) patients and healthy controls. T-lymphocytes were determined by the E-rosette technique and by OKT3/LEU4 monoclonal antibodies; OKT4/LEU3 and OKT8/LEU2 monoclonal antibodies were used to identify T-cell subsets with helper/inducer and suppressor/cytotoxic activity, respectively. We developed a new method for demonstration and enumeration of antigen-binding cells, the principle and application of this method is demonstrated using peripheral blood lymphoid cells from Hashimoto patients, non-Hashimoto, non Graves' disease goiter patients and in patients without thyroid disease. A significantly higher number of thyroglobulin-binding cells was observed in the peripheral blood of Hashimoto patients as compared to members of the two other groups. The results of the FICA-tests were compared to conventional serological data of the individual patients.

The distribution of peripheral blood lymphocytes with immunoglobulins (Ig) in 14 patients with monclonal gammapathies has been studied. The patients have been divided in two groups, one including patients never treated, the other those studied during or after treatment. The results, compared with 11 control subjects, show that lymphocytes with surface Ig from the same class of the serum paraprotein increased in every case of the first group and in some cases of the second.

A high-sensitive "immune" proserine++ test was developed for the early detection of myasthenia, especially of its concealed and unclear forms. The results are derived from counting Ach-ROK immune to blood acetylcholine (Ach) before and 30 min after subcutaneous proserin administration. A high (over 10%) baseline Ach-ROK blood count which fell sharply after proserin injection was characteristic of myasthenia patients as compared to controls (under 10%). The reverse was found in healthy individuals and patients with other nervous diseases: an increase of ROK up to 24-39%.
