Leiomyosarcoma of the scrotum is a rare tumor. Up to 1999, only 29 cases have been reported in the literature worldwide. A 27-year-old man presented with a mass on the left side of the scrotum which had been painless and had gradually enlarged over the previous 10 years. The authors present a case report of traumatic avulsion of the skin of the penis and scrotum. Surgical treatment was performed in one surgical stage a few hours after the accident. The skin repair of the penis was carried out with a skin graft, while scrotum reconstruction was performed with fasciocutaneous flaps of the inner face of the thighs, with supero-medial pedicle, achieving a good result. The authors justify their choice of procedure, also mentioning the other methods most employed.

Basal cell carcinoma is the most common human neoplasm, with hundreds of thousands of new cases occurring on an annual basis. Involvement of the scrotum is quite rare, with fewer than twenty-five reported cases. We present a patient with a basal cell carcinoma of the scrotum and review the literature regarding this infrequently documented site.

Color Doppler imaging (CDI) has become the study of choice in evaluation of the scrotum due to technological advances resulting in superior resolution and sensitive Doppler systems. Most lipomas occurring in the scrotum originate and develop in the spermatic cord. In rare cases, however, lipomas originate in the fat cells of the subcutaneous tissues of the scrotal walls themselves. These primary lipomas of the scrotum vary in size. We describe a patient with a scrotal mass that, to our knowledge, is the largest scrotal lipoma originating in the tunica dartos reported in the English literature.

Color Doppler ultrasonography (US) is an increasingly important tool in the evaluation of the scrotum, especially in acute scrotal disorders. A young male had tinea cruris due to Epidermophyton floccosum. He had associated dermatophytosis of the scrotum, penis and upper lip from which the same species of fungus was isolated. On the lip, the lesion extended to the vermilion area (prolabium) of the lip and the term 'tinea labialis' is suggested for this condition.

Our surgical technique of scrotoplasty for repair of prepenile scrotum performed at our Department is described. Inverted omega skin incision was made around the scrotal skin and base of the penis. Scrotal flaps were prepared and these were brought beneath the penis. These scrotal flaps were sutured in two layers, subcutaneous tissue with 3-0 or 2-0 chromic catgut and skin with 4-0 or 3-0 prolene. Five patients with bilharzial masses of the spermatic cord were studied. Clinical examination and laboratory tests were performed. Plain radiology was used in 1 case to illustrate the calcified masses. Sonography in these patients gives a characteristic picture, with echogenic multiple masses with posterior shadowing. Operative excision of these masses was performed, and histopathological examination was carried out to verify the diagnosis.
