Thoracic venous anomalies are often asymptomatic and may go undetected by non-dedicated imaging studies. However, they have significant clinical relevance, as they can affect surgical planning, complicate interventional procedures, and predispose patients to pathological conditions such as arrhythmias, paradoxical embolism, and thrombosis. Positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) using [18F]-fluoro-2-deoxy-D-glucose (FDG) has become the mainstay imaging modality for evaluating oncology patients with certain cancers. The most common FDG PET/CT applications include staging/restaging, assessing response to therapy and detecting tumor recurrence. It is important to be aware of potential pitfalls and technical artifacts on PET/CT in the chest and abdomen to ensure accurate interpretation, avoid unnecessary intervention and optimize patient care.

Lymphangioma is a rare benign proliferation of lymph vessels in the head and neck, axilla, and rarely the mediastinum. We report on the minimally invasive management of a complex recurrence of lymphangioma involving bilateral chest, mediastinum, and abdomen. Penetrating abdominal injuries are uncommon in the pediatric age group and are associated with a high mortality. A seven year old girl suffered penetrating injury to perineum when she fell onto the trident (trishula - traditional three pronged spear) implanted alongside Lord Shiva's idol. The rod caused perforations of the transverse mesocolon, ileum at 3 places, right lobe of liver, diaphragm, parietal pleura, and exited from 7th intercostal space. Surgical repair of each damaged site was undertaken. Despite delayed presentation, the child survived following surgery.

We report a case of a newborn with severe respiratory distress since birth with two giant intrathoracic and separate eneteric duplication cysts in right hemithorax. On day 19, the intrathoracic cysts were removed, and the baby was discharged on his 22nd day of life. Histologic findings confirmed the diagnosis of a gastric duplication cyst. This report is the first case of two isolated, separated and giant right intrathoracic gastric duplication cysts in literature. The diagnostic values of radiological evaluation and surgical and pathological management for precise diagnosis are discussed.

Patients with suppurative lung diseases such as bronchiectasis and cystic fibrosis can be treated surgically, which leads to an asymmetric thorax, making lung transplant difficult in a volume-reduced hemithorax.
