To evaluate the clinicopathology of carcinomas originating in the urinary bladder neck, 316 cystectomies for urinary bladder carcinoma performed between January 1, 2008, and December 31, 2013, were analyzed. Clinicopathological parameters were compared between bladder neck carcinomas (BNCs) and non-BNCs. Among the 316 cystectomies were 19 BNCs and 297 non-BNCs. BNCs accounted for 19/316 (6%) of all the cases, with a male-to-female ratio 18:1. Bladder neck location was significantly associated with advanced tumor stage. Catheterisation of the urinary bladder is needed in many types of human disease models in pigs. Schistosomiasis haematobium precancerous lesions of urinary bladder included group 1: preneo-plastic non papillary (flat) lesions [reactive atypia, flat hyperplasia, keratinizing squamous metaplasia, glandular metaplasia, dysplasia, carcinoma in-situ (CIS)] and group 2 preneoplastic papillary lesions (typical papillary hyperplasia, atypical papillary hyperplasia, papilloma). Bladder diverticula are predisposed to developing intradiverticular bladder tumors. We describe FDG PET/CT findings in a case of intradiverticular bladder cancer. At FDG PET/CT (62 min), the intradiverticular bladder cancer appeared as an exophytic lesion with similar density to the urine in the bladder and intense activity mimicking a bladder diverticulum. AIM: Primary Signet Ring Cell Carcinoma (SRCC) of the bladder accounts for only 1%‒4% of all bladder malignancies. To date, few studies have been conducted to investigate the characteristics of SRCC. This study aimed to investigate the clinical features and treatments of SRCC and explore the independent risk factors of survival in SRCC patients.
PATIENTS AND METHODS: A retrospective study was conducted on 32 eligible patients. The survival rate was calculated with the Kaplan-Meier method, and the COX proportional hazards model was used to investigate the independent risk factors of prognosis.
