Recent reports suggest that laparoscopic laser cholecystectomy may become the preferred therapy for symptomatic cholelithiasis. To assess the efficacy and safety of this technique, using monopolar electrocautery instead of laser for the gallbladder dissection, laparoscopic cholecystectomy was performed on 11 pigs. A 28-year-old woman with a history of an hydroxyapatite implantation performed 2 years earlier, presented with complaints of a poorly fitting prosthesis, and fullness of the left upper eyelid accompanied by eyelid erythema. Computed tomography scan showed a mass adjacent to the implant medially. Surgical removal of the implant and mass was performed. Histological examination of the implant revealed degradation on the medial side of the implant while the mass consisted of fibrous tissue with chronic inflammation and lymphoid follicle formation around a foreign material.

In the presented paper the authors evaluated the results of treatment in patients following primary total knee arthroplasty using bone grafts due to sever valgus or varus deformity. For operative treatment of urinary incontinence after TUR of the prostate, radical prostatectomy and meningocele operation the silicongel prothesis described by Kaufman was implanted. By compression of the bulbus urethrae a sealing effect was achieved. The pressure of the detrusor opens the urethra enough to enable urination. Seven patients were operated. The results directly after the operations were: three very good, two good and two bad. We achieved very good results by implantation of the prothesis "large" -in the case of the two bad operative results we used the "medium" size prothesis. B
