A new method, the Plaque Glycolysis and Regrowth Method (PGRM), is described for the evaluation of antimicrobial effects on plaque metabolism in vivo. The method relies on the experimental observation that in vivo sampled dental plaques, collected from different quadrants of the dentition, produce equivalent rates of metabolic activity and regrowth when similarly dispersed and normalized into incubation media. In applications of the technique to antimicrobial evaluations, overnight fasted dental plaque is collected from a non-treated quadrant of the dentition along the gingival margin. Topical

Urodynamic evaluation was performed in 75 patients with congenital neuropathic bladder. Concerning treatment the most important parameters were detrusor tone, detrusor activity and bladder outlet resistance. Based on these findings individual conservative therapy was applied. The effects of the selective delta-1 (delta(1)) opioid receptor agonist, DPDPE, and the selective delta(2) opioid receptor agonist, DSLET, have been studied on the ventricular fibrillation threshold (VFT) in rats with an experimental post-infarction cardiosclerosis (CS). Previous reports have indicated that certain mouthrinses, even when used as directed can induce oral pain. Factors affecting intracellular pH (pHi) in the smooth muscle of guinea pig ureter have been investigated using pH-sensitive microelectrodes.
