Using glucose oxidase (GOx) as a target protein, we studied the adsorption of protein on the phenothiazine-modified electrodes and assessed the potential of using the electrodes in biochemical applications. Tumor-induced osteomalacia (TIO) is a rare disorder of phosphate wasting due to fibroblast growth factor-23 (FGF23)-secreting tumors that are often difficult to locate. BACKGROUND: Neuroendocrine tumors of the small bowel (SBNETs) are a rare but important subgroup of malignancies. The value of CT of the pelvis, 111In-labeled leukocyte scintigraphy, and contrast enema (pouchography) for detecting postsurgical complications was assessed in 44 patients with total colectomy, rectal mucosectomy, and ileoanal pouches. METHODS: The results of in vivo somatostatin scintigraphy were correlated with those of MIBG from 14 patients, aged 22-66 yr, with metastatic pheochromocytoma (10 patients), malignant paraganglioma (3 patients) and metastatic ganglioneuroblastoma (1 patient). Twelve patients had elevated catecholamine excretion. A dynamic study and serial whole-body scans (4-48 hr) were obtained after injection of 130-187 MBq of 111In-DTPA-Phe-1-octreotide.
