The growth and function of the epididymis are regulated by testosterone produced by Leydig cells in the testes. In the present study it was observed that neutralization of endogenous follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) in immature rats using a highly specific antiserum to ovine FSH resulted in changes in the histology of the epididymis along with a decrease (50-60%) in its weight compared with the normal serum-treated controls. AIM: To evaluate the antifertility activity of the ethanolic extract of Amalakyadi churna by oral administration in male albino mice.
METHODS: The ethanol extract of Amalakyadi churna at the dose of 250 mg/kg and 400 mg/kg body weight was administered orally for 30 days to adult male mice. On day 31, the mice were sacrificed and the testis and accessory reproductive organs were removed and weighed. The organs were processed for biochemical estimation and histological work.

The male reproductive functions of the members of the Masherbrum (7821 m) Expedition in 1999 were examined via semen analyses and endocrine tests. Specimens were collected from three subjects who had stayed above 5100 m for 21 to 24 days and above 6700 m for 4 to 5 days before departure and 1 month, 3 months, and 2 yr after returning from the expedition. In a double-blind, placebo-controlled study, 252 prepubertal boys with 301 undescended testes were treated with luteinising-hormone-releasing-hormone (LHRH), 1.2 mg/day intranasally. This study aimed to describe the gross and histological features of multiple endocrine and non-endocrine neoplasia, including multiple PGLs found in two Boxer dogs. Additionally, the identified PGLs were immunohistochemically evaluated, and the subunits 2, 3, and 4 of the SDHD gene were screened for possible mutations. Cysts and tumors of the rete ovarii have been described only rarely and little is known of their pathology. We describe herein 16 cases of cysts (cystadenomas), 2 solid adenomas, and 1 adenocarcinoma of rete ovarii origin. The patients with the cysts were 23-80 years of age (mean age, 59 years). The cysts averaged 8.7 cm in diameter and were characterized by a location in the hilus; a flat, cuboidal, or columnar, usually nonciliated-lining epithelium; crevices along the inner surfaces; and a fibromuscular wall that often contained hyperplastic hilus cells.
