PURPOSE: To investigate persistent avascular retina in infants with type 2 retinopathy of permaturity (ROP) that persisted after 45 weeks' post-menstrual age when regular ROP screening ceased.
METHODS: A prospective observational study where fundus fluorescein angiography (FFA) was completed on consecutive infants who had a history of type 2 ROP and avascular retina during ROP screening that persisted after 45 weeks' post-menstrual age.
RESULTS: FFA was completed on 72 eyes of 36 infants (53% male), with a mean gestational age of 26.0 ± 2.2 weeks and a mean birth weight of 834.6 ± 216.3 gram

The number of patients will greatly increase in upcoming years and changes will have to be accomplished to cope with those numbers. As such, data are important to understand the effect of new policies introduced in glaucoma management. PURPOSE: To study the incidence and treatment of severe retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) in infants younger than 30 weeks' gestational age (GA) in New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory, Australia, from 2003 to 2008. These data were then compared to data from previously reported epochs (1986 to 1987, 1992 to 1997, and 1998 to 2002).
METHODS: Data were divided into two sub-epochs (2003 to 2005 and 2006 to 2008) to study trends and combined to compare over 22 years.

PURPOSE: The German retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) Registry collects data on treated ROP in a multicentre approach to analyse epidemiology and treatment patterns of severe ROP.
METHODS: Nine centres entered data from 90 treated ROP infants (born between January 2011 and December 2013) into a central database. A surgical approach for the drainage of fluid leaking over the pit in optic disc pit maculopathy is described, and a theory of the origin of fluid is discussed. In two cases, complete fluid-air exchange was performed. The air infusion pressure was decreased to 5 mm Hg, and the collected fluid was drained by raising the infusion pressure to 25 mm Hg. Both Coats' disease and FEVR demonstrate vascular abnormalities and associated exudation. Coats' disease manifests as teleangiectasia and aneurysms.
