Supraglottic infections are included among the more serious pediatric infections, although they are less common than other pediatric respiratory infections. Supraglottic infections include epiglottis (supraglottitis), retropharyngeal cellulitis, retropharyngeal abscess, and peritonsillar abscess. A high index of suspicion combined with rapid diagnosis and treatment are crucial to reducing the morbidity and mortality associated with these infections. A review of these infections, including diagnosis and treatment, is presented.

The results of a 7-year monitoring of 230 patients with non-seminomatous testicular tumors are reported with respect to the employment of radioimmunoanalysis of alpha-fetoprotein and beta-human chorionic gonadotropin levels and CT examinations of retroperitoneum and lungs. The results of a thoraco-abdominal retroperitoneal approach for the treatment of pararenal aneurysms are discussed. Fifteen patients with juxtarenal (7 pts) and suprarenal (8 pts) aneurysms were operated on by a left side thoracolaparotomy with retrocolic dissection.
