Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is the commonest primary malignant neoplasm of the CNS. Three patients, 2 women aged 26 and 19 years and a 65-year-old man, underwent surgical fracture treatment after a motor vehicle accident with fractures of the lower extremity. The assessment of patients with chronic pain is receiving increasing attention by psychiatrists. Recent publications have put forward the concept of the "pain-prone disorder" as a variant of depressive illness. This commentary provides definitions for cannabinoid terminology, examines US Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-approved and non-FDA-approved medications with cannabinoids as the main ingredient, and discusses how vague terminology may lead to a public misperception regarding the lack of evidence-based medical indications for cannabis.

In cell biology, statistical analysis means testing the hypothesis that there was no effect. This weak form of hypothesis testing neglects effect size, is universally misinterpreted, and is disastrously prone to error when combined with high-throughput cell biology. OBJECTIVE: To examine the relationship between duration of benzodiazepine exposure and the risk of dementia.
DESIGN: A retrospective cohort study using administrative health data followed 3 age-based strata (ages 55, 65 and 75) for up to a maximum of 22 years to examine risk of dementia due to benzodiazepine use. Each stratum was analyzed as a whole, then restricted to persons with depression or anxiety, and finally using high dimension propensity scores (HDPS) matched cohort.
SETTING: We used administrative data on subjects receiving standard medical care in Manitoba, Canada.

The underlying cause of sepsis is a dysregulated host response to infection, leading to multiple organ failure. Identifying sepsis is crucial because of the associated pathophysiological, practical, and therapeutic implications, which will determine where and how the patient should be managed. Spontaneous intracranial hypotension is a rare condition, but due to increased awareness and better diagnostics it is more frequently reported. This is a case report of a 52-year-old male with sudden onset of vertigo and orthostatic headache. Initial workup was negative, but over the following six months symptoms progressed and bilateral hygromas were identified. Complete recovery was noted after two autologous blood patches. The importance of clinical presentation and differential diagnoses of spontaneous intracranial hypotension is emphasized.
