Invasive aspergillosis, an infection most frequently induced by Aspergillus fumigatus and Aspergillus flavus, typically occurs in immunocompromised patients and is usually transmitted through inhalation of Aspergillus spores. As the lungs are by far the most common site involved in invasive aspergillosis and invasive aspergillosis in immunocompetent hosts is very rare, there have been a few case reports of extra-pulmonary, disseminated invasive aspergillosis in immunocompetent persons. Rothia mucilaginosa is a gram-postive coccus that occurs as part of the normal flora of the oropharynx and upper respiratory tract. Demodicosis refers to the infestation by Demodex spp., a saprophytic mite of the pilosebaceous unit. Demodex proliferation can result in a number of cutaneous disorders including pustular folliculitis, pityriasis folliculorum, papulopustular, and granulomatous rosacea, among others. CASE REPORT: We report the case of an immunocompetent male who presented with a limbal-adjacent scleritis and interstitial keratitis in the left eye. A few days later a new dendritiform ulcer in his right eye and bilateral progressive worsening with granulomatous uveitis in both eyes were observed. A thorough review of systems revealed positive serum IgM titles for herpes simplex virus.
DISCUSSION: In the context of a bilateral keratouveitis refractory to conventional treatment it is mandatory to rule out the herpetic origin based on the different forms of clinical presentation of this virus.

Children infrequently are afflicted with herpes zoster (HZ). Activation of latent varicella-zoster virus (VZV) in a partially immune host results in HZ. Herpes zoster in children can be benign or with varied severity, especially in cases associated with malignancy. The authors report a primary cutaneous cryptococcosis, caused by Cryptococcus neoformans in immunocompetent patient, a farmer who developed extensive lesions at the site of an injury caused by one of the chickens on his right forearm, while he was cleaning out his barn. Oral treatment with fluconazole was totally successful. A review of the literature showed the rarity of cutaneous cryptococcosis in immunocompetent patients and in contrast, that skin lesions frequently occur in immunocompromised patients.
