The pleomorphic lipoma is a benign neoplasm of lipocytes with atypical histologic features. The tumor shows a predilection for the region of the neck and shoulders of midde-aged and elderly men and must be differentiated from similar-appearing malignant entities such as liposarcoma and malignant myxoid fibrous histiocytoma. An occurrence of a pleomorphic lipoma in the scalp is reported and its histologic features described and discussed.

We report a young gentleman who was admitted with what was initially thought as coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19)-related pulmonary symptoms. His chest CT showed a large pleural effusion causing a mediastinal shift and compressing vital structures. Liposarcoma (LPS) of vulva is a rare entity. We present the ultrasonographic (US) and color Doppler ultrasonographic (CDUS) findings of a vulvar myxoid LPS. Although LPS cases have been reported in the extremities and trunk, the US or CDUS findings of LPS in vulva have not been described previously. On US the mass appeared as a well-defined, homogeneous hypoechoic structure and on CDUS it was quite hypervascular.

Liposarcomas are categorized into four distinct histopathological subtypes: atypical lipomatous tumors (ALT)/well-differentiated liposarcoma (WDL), dedifferentiated, myxoid, and pleomorphic. PURPOSE: We performed this study to analyze the clinical features and prognosis of Korean patients with liposarcoma.
PATIENTS & METHODS: Between October 1986 and April 2013, 231 patients who were diagnosed with liposarcoma by histologic examination were enrolled in this study.

Thirty cases formerly diagnosed as Grade I lipogenic liposarcoma (well differentiated liposarcoma) were reviewed. The basic histologic pattern in all was that of adult fat modified by the presence of cells with enlarged, hyperchromatic nuclei; in most cases there was also a component of myxoid and/or fibrous tissue.
