A thorough knowledge of equine spinal anatomy, biomechanics, and potential pathology is required to understand the principles and theories behind chiropractic and to apply its techniques properly. Chiropractic provides additional diagnostic and therapeutic means that may help equine practitioners to identify and treat the primary cause of lameness or poor performance. Specialized training in the evaluation and treatment of vertebral joint dysfunction and neuromusculoskeletal disorders places chiropractic in the forefront of conservative treatment of spinal-related disorders. Nevertheless, limi

Aneurysms of the extracranial portion of the internal carotid artery are rare, particularly in young patients. They usually develop following trauma, or secondary to infection involving the parapharyngeal space that extends to the vessel wall. This is a case of an internal carotid artery aneurysm presenting acutely following chiropractic neck manipulation with hypoglossal and glossopharyngeal nerve palsy. The imaging findings and subsequent operative management are described.

Post-traumatic cervical epidural hematoma is an uncommon entity. A case is presented in which such a lesion developed after chiropractic manipulation of the neck. The patient presented with a Brown-Séquard syndrome, which has only rarely been reported in association with cervical epidural hematoma. The correct diagnosis was obtained by computed tomographic scanning. Surgical evacuation of the hematoma was followed by full recovery.

BACKGROUND: Headache disorders are among the leading causes of disability globally. In primary care, including chiropractic practice, clinicians often serve as the first point of contact for patients seeking evaluation and management of headache. Despite this, limited evidence exists regarding how Danish chiropractors assess, diagnose, and manage headache in routine practice. This study aimed to examine how Danish chiropractors adopt a profession-specific clinical care standard, conduct clinical assessments, apply the ICHD-3 diagnostic criteria, and manage patients presenting with headache.
