OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study was to assess health-related quality of life and its associated factors among epileptic patients in public hospitals of Wollega zones, Ethiopia. Institutional based cross-sectional study was conducted on 402 epileptic patients, from March 01 to March 30, 2018. BACKGROUND: Late human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) diagnosis is the most prominent cause of HIV/AIDS-related mortality and also increases the risk of transmission and spread of the disease in society. Adolescents are the most vulnerable population's age group for HIV infection in several settings, but expanding access to early HIV testing remains a challenge. Using the sample of 1726 special education students from the Collaborative Study of Children With Special Needs, the authors describe the related services being provided to the children and then analyze the relationship between service provision and class placement. Related services are provided in all settings, with a concentration in special schools and special classes. For even the most severely involved children the trade-off with academics is no more than 1 hour per day. It is argued that schools now are major sites of therapeutic service provision for children with special needs.

BACKGROUND: Patient and public involvement (PPI) is widely promoted in health research, care services and governance. It is increasingly framed as a matter of rights, dignity and accountability. Despite strong policy support, PPI remains conceptually diverse, unevenly implemented and persistently vulnerable to tokenism, with PPI contributors often reporting unclear influence and weak feedback. Recent literature has highlighted the need for stronger ethical anchoring of PPI beyond standards, frameworks and reporting requirements.
