A combination injury to the forearm, consisting of Monteggia- and Galeazzi lesion is described. After osteosyntheses of the fractures the dislocation of the head of radius and ulna were reduced spontaneously because of restauration of correct axes and length. Because of a simultaneous fracture of the coronoid process an above elbow plaster cast was supplied. Healing took place with free motion of all joints.

OBJECTIVE: To survey the contamination of L. monocytogenes isolated from retail ready-to-eat meats in Beijing.
METHODS: Ready-to-eat meats were quantitatively detected for L. monocytogenes using MPN method. L. monocytogenes isolates were analyzed by PFGE.
RESULTS: Fourteen out of 197 ready-to-eat meat samples were positive for L. monocytogenes with the contamination rate of 7.11% and the geometry mean contamination level of 14.31 MPN/g. The contamination of L. monocytogenes isolated from free trade market (13.89%) was more severe than those from specificity store (8.57%), supermarket (5.75%)

Eleven Shigella flexneri (group B) isolates were recovered from epidemiologically linked patrons and food handlers from a restaurant-associated outbreak of shigellosis. Six isolates available for pulsed-field gel electrophoresis were identical. All strains agglutinated in group B and subgroup factor 6 sera but not in group 1 through group 6 sera.

We analyzed 2015-2024 national surveillance data on Kudoa septempunctata parasite-associated foodborne disease in South Korea. Monthly cases decreased 95% during the COVID-19 pandemic, with no significant recovery through 2024; affected municipalities dropped from 89 to 27. Our findings are consistent with restaurant-based raw fish consumption as the principal transmission pathway.

A case of mixed infection of Salmonella (type C2) and Parasarcophaga crassipalpis (an intestinal myiasis) in a two-year-old girl is reported. A girl after dining in a restaurant developed typical Salmonella food-poisoning symptoms. Stool culture showed both Salmonella and fly larvae. This paper is to report a first case of this fly larvae infection and to review the recent trends of food-poisoning in Japan.
