The triangular flap repair is one of the most common techniques used in cleft lip surgery. However, inability to address the nasal deformity and loss of orbicularis wholeness accompanied with incomplete reorientation have been two major handicaps of the triangular repair. Therefore, we developed our personal technique, called the triangular with ala nasi (TAN) repair, including a perialar incision and a distinct approach to the skin and muscle. The tanning method using 7% silvernitrate and 2% mebromide solution for second degree burns in childhood is demonstrated. The advantages of this method are described as singular and painless application of the agent, little annoyance of the patient, bactericidal effect in second degree burns, low expenses and easy medical care. The procedure of tanning is preferred in treating burn injuries of the trunk and non mobile areas of the extremities. We report on indication, procedure of tanning and results in the treatment of 129 burned children.

Protection against UV and visible light-induced delayed tanning (DT) and immediate tanning (IT) of two broad-spectrum sunscreens with the same sun protection factor was investigated. Protection factors (PFs) against DT (24 h and 7 days) of the sunscreens differed significantly, but PFs against IT did not. This study indicates that using PF against 24 h DT is more appropriate for an evaluation of broad-spectrum sunscreens against UVA and visible light than IT.

Clinicians can play a role in skin cancer prevention by counseling their patients on use of sun protection and indoor tanning avoidance. We used data from the 2016 DocStyles, a web-based survey of U.S. primary care providers, to examine skin cancer prevention counseling practices among 1506 providers.
