We present a spatial transcriptomic map of the mouse urinary bladder at near single-cell resolution using Visium HD technology with 8 × 8 μm bins. After quality filtering, we analyzed 66,471 bins and 9,364 genes. Cluster annotation was supported by canonical marker genes and reference datasets, including Tabula Muris and Mouse Cell Atlas. Urothelial carcinoma (UC) is by far the most common malignant neoplasm of the urinary bladder; however, there are both benign and malignant changes of the urothelium which morphologically resemble urothelial carcinomas or other carcinomas of the urinary bladder. Thus, these mimickers can cause problems in the histomorphological diagnosis. This article provides an overview of possible mimickers and pitfalls of bladder cancer as well as practical notes on the diagnostic procedure, partly using case studies.

The article provides a rare observation of a 34-year-old woman who, 12 years before admission to a urological clinic, a gynecologist installed an intrauterine contraceptive device (IUD). The subject migrated into the abdominal cavity, and after 10 years the patient developed dysuria and hematuria. In October 2017, ultrasound and cystoscopy revealed the migration of IUD into the bladder. A foreign body was removed from the bladder - an IUD of a T-shape with the formation of a stone on it with a maximum size of 4.5 cm. During a follow-up examination after 2 years, pathology was not established.

Extra-skeletal osteosarcoma (ESOS) is a rare neoplasm that represents less than 2% of all soft tissue sarcomas. Common reported sites of involvement include limbs, retroperitoneum, chest wall and buttocks. ESOS arising primarily in parenchymatous organs are extremely uncommon, with the involvement of the urinary bladder is even rarer.
