We used transscleral Neodymium:YAG laser cyclophotocoagulation (TSYLCC) to treat 47 patients (47 eyes) with end-stage, refractory, or absolute glaucoma. The mean pretreatment intraocular pressure (IOP), 40.5 +/- 10.8 mm Hg, decreased a mean of 13 +/- 8 months following treatment to 15.6 +/- 10.6 mm Hg, a statistically significant change (P < .05). Nine postkeratoplasty eyes with persistent intraocular pressure (IOP) elevation were treated under an investigational protocol by transscleral YAG cyclocoagulation (TSYCC). The significance of prostaglandins and other eicosanoids in normal ocular physiology and in ocular disease is not well understood. We have utilized cultured human trabecular cells and an in vivo model of laser-induced inflammation in the rabbit eye to gain information concerning eicosanoid biosynthesis and its regulation in the anterior segment. Further investigations using these experimental paradigms should help to elucidate the physiologic and pathophysiologic roles of eicosanoids in the eye.

BACKGROUND: Many patients with psoriasis suffer from post-inflammatory pigmentary alteration (PIPA), which remains an unmet treatment need. Eruptive lentiginosis (EL) is a rare form of PIPA where multiple dark brown macules arise within a resolving psoriatic plaque. We present a case of a 68-year-old male with a history of chronic plaque psoriasis and prothrombin deficiency, who developed extensive EL following ixekizumab treatment. PURPOSE: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of holmium laser enucleation of the prostate (HoLEP) in a large prospective cohort of patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) through systematic follow-up at a single institution.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: Clinical outcomes were analyzed between August 2008 and June 2022. Patients were followed-up at 2 weeks, 3 months and 6 months postoperatively.
RESULTS: A total of 3,000 patients (mean age, 69.6±7.7 years) underwent HoLEP. Baseline total International Prostate Symptom Score (IPSS) was 19.3±7.7 and maximum flow rate (Qmax) was 9.4±4.8 mL/s.
