Behçet's disease (BD) is characterized by recurrent oral aphthae, skin lesions, eye lesions, and genital ulceration. To determine the pathogenesis of BD, we performed histological and immunohistochemical studies of these mucocutaneous lesions, an assay of neutrophil activity, and HLA typing. Dense dermal or subcutaneous infiltrations of polymorphonuclear cells (PMN) without leukocytoclastic vasculitis were found in 28 of 57 lesions. To grasp the clinical characteristics, treatment and prognosis of trichloroethylene medicamentose-like dermatitis, seven hospitalized cases were analyzed in detail. The disease has various manifestations, among them, those accompanied by hepatitis or renal diseases are crucial. Adequate dose of corticosteroid hormone in earlier period could effectively control the patient's condition. Besides paying close attention to changes of the patient's skin, we should also keep an eye for the changes of the liver and kidneys and their relevant indices, as different patients have different prognoses.

Fourteen patients admitted to our clinic were found to have desquamative gingivitis. They were treated with doxycycline monohydrate, a semisynthetic tetracycline, for 6 to 8 weeks. The gingival lesions were recorded photographically and were classified according to severity by means of a four-graded mucosal index system. We report the case of a a 60 year-old worker in the pharmaceutical industry who suffered from recurring contact dermatitis. Initially the contact dermatitis was limited to the hands; later on it became generalized. The patient had been working on a drug filling line in a pharmaceutical plant for more than 20 years. Eight years after starting this job he had developed allergic hand dermatitis to 2,6-diaminopyridine (patch test positive); this healed upon cessation of exposure.
