The overwhelming majority of girls presenting with primary amenorrhoea have aetiologies with their roots in disturbances of embryogenesis and/or the endocrinology of sexual differentiation. This review will deal with the fundamentals of embryology and endocrinology relevant to the subject and then discuss the findings in a group of one hundred and forty patients with primary amenorrhoea as they relate to these disturbances.

Plasmid-borne colistin resistance mediated by mcr-1 may contribute to the dissemination of pan-resistant Gram-negative bacteria. Here, we show that mcr-1 confers resistance to colistin-induced lysis and bacterial cell death, but provides minimal protection from the ability of colistin to disrupt the Gram-negative outer membrane. METHODS: We retrospectively studied non-duplicate Enterobacter isolates from adults at a tertiary-care hospital in southern Saudi Arabia (August 2012-August 2024), interpreted by contemporaneous CLSI criteria. Temporal trends were modelled by logistic regression as the annual percent change (APC) in the odds of non-susceptibility, adjusted for care setting, specimen source, age, and sex.
