UNLABELLED: Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) is the main etiologic factor for duodenal ulcer (DU). Bleeding is still a frequent and sometimes severe complication, with unacceptable mortality despite modern therapeutic modalities. The importance of diagnosing and treating H. pylori infection in bleeding DU is underlined by the fact that eradication therapy is effective in preventing recurrent bleeding. The purpose of this study was to investigate the safety and efficacy of intravenous levetiracetam (LEV-iv) in refractory status epilepticus (SE). A retrospective chart review was performed on patients who received LEV-iv for treatment of SE (n = 36) and had failed at least one other antiepileptic drug. BACKGROUND: To clarify the preventive effect of taurohyodeoxycholic acid on liver cholestasis induced by toxic bile acids in rats, we evaluated whether modulation of cytochrome P4503A-linked oxidases is involved in the hepatic bile acid retention and secretion mechanism. We investigated whether the safe or the toxic taurochenodeoxycholic acid, administered singly or together, affects cytochrome P450-catalyzed drug metabolism or biliary parameters. In this study, three series of experiments were conducted on euthermic, anesthetized, artificially ventilated golden mantled ground squirrels (Spermophilus lateralis), each of which altered pHa in a different fashion. The antisecretory properties of imipramine on gastric secretion in guinea pig in comparison with other antisecretory agents was determined. In awake guinea pigs s.c. infusion of histamine (30 micrograms/kg/hr) increased acid and fluid secretion by 3- to 4-fold. OBJECTIVE: Remimazolam, a novel ultra-short-acting benzodiazepine anesthetic, provides rapid recovery with minimal circulatory depression, making it a promising agent for procedural sedation. However, differences in regulatory approvals and safety requirements across countries limit its clinical use.
