The experience of application of laparoscopic operations in conditions of central hospital of district in 2003-2004 yrs was summarized. There were analyzed the results of application of laparoscopic technologies in 116 patients. In 90 of them the intervention was performed for various clinical forms of cholelithiasis, in 26--for other surgical diseases of abdominal cavity organs. The performance of laparoscopic operations have promoted the reduction of the treatment duration in surgical stationary and shortage of the temporary disablement period.

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the justification for operative intervention in patients undergoing surgery for benign scrotal pathology, and to assess the associated morbidity.
PATIENTS AND METHODS: Consecutive patients in two surgical firms who underwent surgery for benign intrascrotal pathology over a 5-year period were studied retrospectively.
RESULTS: In all, 102 patients were included in the study (mean age 51.6 years, range 16-86). Most patients had either epididymal cysts (59) or hydroceles (31) or a combination of the two (eight). Some patients (37) underwent ultrasonography before surgery.

Transcatheter embolization of genitourinary pathology has enjoyed widespread acceptance over the past several years. In many centers, preoperative embolization of hypervascular renal-cell carcinomas has become a routine practice and, in patients deemed unresectable, may be used as a primary form of therapy. The incidences of various diseases responsible for the occurrence of a scrotal mass have been reported.
