A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study was made of 2% ketoconazole cream and shampoo in 20 patients with seborrhoeic dermatitis of the face. Sixteen also had seborrhoeic dermatitis of the scalp and five had seborrhoeic dermatitis of the chest or back. Responses were measured by clinicians and patients independently using a grading system and linear analogue scales, respectively. We report on 20 female patients suffering from acne, seborrhea, hirsutism, and androgenic alopecia during the years 1980-1982 who have been treated with 1 tablet of Androcur 10 (10 mg cyproteronacetate) daily, in the first 15 days applied together with Diane (0,05 mg ethinylestradiol and 2 mg cyproteronacetate). Seventy patients (36 males and 34 females) with seborrhoeic dermatitis of the scalp were treated in a double-blind controlled study, for a maximum of 6 weeks, with 2% miconazole base and 1% hydrocortisone (Daktacort), 2% miconazole base, or 1% hydrocortisone.
