Traumatic neuromas (TN) of the biliary tree causing strictures have only occasionally been described after liver transplantation. We report a case of simultaneous late migration of two ePTFE-FEP covered biliary endoprostheses (Viabil, W.L. Gore, Flagstaff, AZ, USA) that were percutaneously implanted for the treatment of malignant obstructive jaundice. Xanthogranulomatous cholecystitis is a rare variant of chronic cholecystitis characterized by severe proliferative fibrosis and accumulation of lipid-laden macrophages in areas of destructive inflammation. From 1978 to 1999 a total of 850 patients underwent surgical treatment for hydatid disease of the liver at our surgical department. Two cases of postoperative abnormal prothrombinemia presumably caused by the administration of cefoperazone are herein described. Cystic dilatations of the common bile duct are believed to be of congenital etiology with most cases presenting in childhood. Medicinal agents can produce various types of hepatic injury by several mechanisms. Review of the sparse literature on the prognosis of asymptomatic and mildly symptomatic gallstones reveals a diversity of methods, definitions, and groups of patients studied, which makes it difficult to draw conclusions.
