We compared the image quality and radiation dose to the lens of the eye in patients with suspected orbital fractures who were imaged using cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) or conventional multislice computed tomography (CT). Described in the article is the technique of temporary roentgenoendovascular balloon occlusion of major arteries during reconstructive and restorative operations in patients with post-traumatic arteriovenous fistulas and false aneurysms. BACKGROUND: The progression of intervertebral disc (IVD) degeneration leads to rupture within IVD tissues. The location and appearance of areas of gaseous radiolucency in the IVD, known as vacuum phenomena (VPs), are considered to indirectly indicate the position and extent of IVD rupture. The clinical significance of VPs in degenerated IVDs is not fully understood. The purpose of this study is to assess and classify the morphology of IVD ruptures by the presence of intradiscal VPs, and to examine the association between morphological VP-positive IVD ruptures and degenerative lumbar diseases.

Endovascular repair of pregnancy-associated aortic disease is controversial because the long-term result is still unclear. We report a rare case of early postpartum spontaneous aortic rupture that was successfully treated by endovascular repair, with a good midterm result. Multiangle thin-slice images of contrast-enhanced computed tomography revealed a very small rupture point. It was successfully repaired by minimally invasive treatment.
