PURPOSE: To describe our experience with a large cohort (411 patients from 288 families) of various forms of skeletal dysplasia who were molecularly characterized.
METHODS: Detailed phenotyping and next-generation sequencing (panel and exome).

BACKGROUND: The RAS/MAPK disorders [Noonan syndrome, cardiofaciocutaneous (CFC) syndrome, Costello syndrome, and Leopard syndrome] are heterogenous conditions with phenotypic overlap. Their orthopaedic manifestations are not well defined, and their phenotypic similarity makes differentiating them difficult.
METHODS: We prospectively evaluated 60 individuals: 26 with Noonan syndrome, 32 with CFC syndrome, and 2 with Costello syndrome. Each individual underwent a structured orthopaedic history and physical evaluation by an orthopaedic surgeon, and a syndromic evaluation by a geneticist.

BACKGROUND: Chronic neurological hip dislocation is a severe musculoskeletal complication in non-ambulatory patients with cerebral palsy. Surgical decision-making is largely based on standard radiographs, although radiography provides only indirect information on articular cartilage status. Whether preoperative radiographic findings accurately reflect macroscopic cartilage degeneration remains unclear. Postreduction imaging is necessary to assess the concentricity of reduction and structural injuries to the hip. There is no a consensus for which imaging is a modality of choice in such condition. BACKGROUND: The present study describes the pathologic changes in the brain and the spinal cord of aborted, stillbirth and deformities of newborn lambs infected with viral agents.
METHODS: From February 2012 to March 2013, a total of 650 aborted fetuses from 793 pregnant ewes were studied from 8 flocks at different areas in the Mazandaran province in the north of Iran. And randomly, systematic necropsy was performed to collect tissues, and all gross abnormalities were recorded at necropsy by the pathologist .Nevertheless, we conducted a limited number of necropsies for aborted fetuses.
