BACKGROUND: Video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) is a key treatment for many cardiothoracic issues, but intraoperative factors can lead to acute postoperative pain (APSP), impacting recovery and quality of life. While multimodal analgesic methods are used, they have notable side effects.
