Delivery of therapeutic agents to the central nervous system is challenged by the barriers in place to regulate brain homeostasis. This is especially true for protein therapeutics. Intracranial xanthogranulomas are rare benign tumors and occur most commonly as choroid plexus xanthogranulomas, which rarely become symptomatic. Exact etiology is still a matter of debate. We present a case of xanthogranuloma of the choroid plexus of the third ventricle, causing obstructive hydrocephalus of the lateral ventricles.

Choroid plexus papilloma (CPP) is a rare, benign epithelial brain tumor of the nervous system seen particularly in infants. Familial cases are extremely uncommon. Some other form of malignant tumors was noted in the relatives of patients with CPPs, and some genetic defects regarding this coincidence were reported in the literature. Choroid plexus papillomas (CPP) are rare intracranial tumours with a favourable long-term outcome after surgical excision. Although they are histologically benign, local recurrences may occasionally occur, but leptomeningeal dissemination is exceptional. Description of a male patient case, 22 years old, presenting visual acuity decrease in the left eye associated with the diagnosis of metastatic testicular tumor to lung and kidney. A case of Aicardi syndrome associated with a choroid plexus papilloma of the third and both lateral ventricles in a 15 months old baby girl is repported. The tumor was completely removed via three craniotomies. Reports of the literature with the association of choroid plexus papilloma and Aicardi syndrome are rare. We suggest that children diagnosed with Aicardi syndrome should routinely undergo imaging studies of the brain, such as computed tomography or magnetic resonance.

A juxtapapillary choroidal melanocytoma that was clinically confused with a choroidal melanoma is described. The clinical examination of a 40-year-old female patient included ultrasonography, fluorescein, and indocyanine green angiography. Intraventricular hemorrhage (IVH) uncommonly occurs in an otherwise healthy term neonate. A 14-year-old boy with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in remission developed headaches characteristic of migraines. His neurologic examination was normal, serial studies of cerebrospinal fluid were unremarkable, and the headaches responded promptly to antimigraine therapy.
