INTRODUCTION: Omentectomy, the surgical removal of part or all of the omentum, is a fundamental component of FIGO staging and cytoreductive surgery for various gynecologic malignancies. Although historically performed via laparotomy, minimally invasive techniques have gained increasing acceptance, offering the potential benefits of reduced morbidity and faster recovery.
OBJECTIVE: To present a novel laparoscopic technique designed to facilitate a safe, straightforward, and effective omentectomy.
SETTING: Laparoscopic omentectomy performed as part of an interval cytoreductive surgery.

BACKGROUND: Infantile colic (IC) is a common and distressing condition characterized by excessive crying and fussiness in otherwise healthy infants, typically resolving by three to four months of age. The etiology of IC remains poorly understood, but shared mechanisms with maternal migraine, such as genetic predisposition, sensory hypersensitivity, and gastrointestinal dysregulation, suggest a potential association. We present a case of an iatrogenic gastro-colic fistula following a Nissen fundoplication which was complicated by extensive adhesions. While gastro-colic fistulae are not an identified complication of Nissen fundoplication, it is, however, a known rare and late complication primarily associated with surgical interventions involving the stomach. The mainstay of treatment remains nutritional and electrolyte support followed by surgical resection.

Henoch-Schönlein purpura (HSP) is often seen in childhood and is a self-limiting illness, and complication with intussusception is rare in adults. The case is reported of a 74-year-old man who was diagnosed with intussusception with HSP by ultrasonography on day of admission. Conservative therapy was started. However, his abdominal symptoms worsened, so he underwent laparotomy 3 days after admission. The ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm is a rare, but life-threatening disease that demands fast diagnosis. We report in the following about a patient who was admitted with symptoms of urinary obstruction and an acute abdomen. Ultrasound investigation at admission confirmed urinary obstruction of the right kidney. Causative for that however was a right pararenal ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm, which led secondarily to ureter compression. Thus, in our opinion, primary ultrasound examination represents an important instrument in differential diagnosis.

Two cases of spontaneous rupture of colicartery aneurysms are presented, one involving the left colic artery and the other the right colic artery, and the literature on abdominal apoplexy and visceral arterial aneurysms is reviewed.
