BACKGROUND Homonymous hemianopia is a loss of conscious vision in one hemifield, strongly affecting everyday life. Audiovisual stimulation programs improve visual perception in the blind hemifield; however, they use large equipment operated in clinical settings. Such treatments require frequent visits at the clinic, hampering the patient's adherence and compliance. In one hemianopia patient, we tested a 4-week dynamic audiovisual rehabilitation program in the stand-alone, remotely controlled, virtual-reality, head-mounted display Oculus Go and measured the effect on visual perception. A 12-year-old girl presented with a history of sudden visual hemi-field loss in the left eye. The visual field defect was a clear-cut temporal hemianopia in the left eye; eye was normal. Complete eye examination and neuro-imaging of brain and opto-chiasmal region revealed normal structural findings. The visual field defect was suspected to be non-organic. This assumption was proven to be the diagnosis when simultaneous binocular fields showed the same pattern, although the contralateral eye's nasal hemi-field was intact. This symptom was alleviated by reassurance and placebo treatment.

A 53 year-old woman with a history of tuberculous meningitis at 3 years of age incidentally found a right incongruous homonymous quadrantano … r history, their location and the association of vascular occlusive changes. Incongruous homonymous hemianopsia due to optic tract damage is usually caused by tumor or aneurysm. Its occurrence by calcified inflammatory lesions has never been reported previously. The present case is considered of value in this respect.

In split of a dramatic increase of syphilis incidence over the last time, neurosyphilis cases are reported relatively rare. The data on ischemic stroke of syphilis origin in 5 patients (3 males and 2 females, aged 35-43 years) are presented. Two patients who underwent gamma knife radiosurgery for ruptured cerebral arteriovenous malformations (AVM) developed cystic lesions at 78 and 111 months after undergoing treatment. Aortic dissection is an uncommon yet frequently fatal illness. Patients generally present with tearing chest pain with possible acute hemodynamic instability. Giant prolactinomas are rare pituitary tumours of which management can be a challenge. A 28-year-old man presented with headaches, visual impairment and behavioural changes. Clinically, the patient was found to have hypogonadism and bitemporal hemianopsia. Brown tumors are osteolytic bone lesions that occur as a result of persistent hyperparathyroidism. We report five patients with anterior choroidal artery syndrome after surgery for internal carotid artery aneurysms. All patients suffered hemiparesis, and hemisensory loss and homonymous hemianopsia were identified in 2 patients. The characteristic triad of the syndrome was recognized in only 1 patient.
