Acute graft-versus-host disease (GvHD) is a serious complication of allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation (allo-HCT) that results from donor allogeneic T cell attack on host tissues. Fifty percent of the world's population is infected with Helicobacter pylori; however, treatment has been insufficient to eradicate the organisms due to rising antibiotic resistance. One hundred consecutive new cases of acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL) were studied in patients that were 4 months to 16 years of age when admitted to The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
