BACKGROUND: A caesarean section (CS) can cause a defect or disruption of the myometrium at the site of the uterine scar, called a niche. In recent years, an association between a niche and postmenstrual spotting after a CS has been demonstrated. Hysteroscopic resection of these niches is thought to reduce spotting and menstrual pain. However, there are no randomised trials assessing the effectiveness of a hysteroscopic niche resection.

STUDY AIM: To evaluate the follow-up after operative hysteroscopic resection of submucous leiomyomas.
PATIENTS AND METHODS: Between January 1990 and December 1996, 200 patients underwent operative hysteroscopic resection of 289 uterine leiomyomas. Indications were: menometrorrhagia (n = 159), postmenopausal metrorrhagia (n = 22), infertility (n = 19) as sole etiology. Sixteen patients had infertility and menometrorrhagia.

During the period of 1981-1990 2109 diagnostic-therapeutical curettages of the cervical canal and uterus were performed in the Department of Gynecology and Oncology of Medical Academy in Kraków. In histological examinations of scrapings 17 cases (0.8%) of micro-glandular hyperplasia limited to cervical canal have been found. We presented an extremely severe case of tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) in a female patient with recurring, life-threatening bleeding complications related to renal angiomyolipomas. STUDY DESIGN: A single center, retrospective review of patients who were diagnosed as cornual heterotopic pregnancy, which developed after in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer (IVF/ET) between January 2009 and June 2014. All patients were managed by laparoscopic cornuostomy or cornual repair.
