Trojan Horse Nanocapsule Enabled In Situ Modulation of the Phenotypic Conversion of Th17 Cells to Treg Cells for the Treatment of Multiple Sclerosis in Mice.

Th17/Treg imbalance is closely related to the occurrence and development of multiple sclerosis (MS), and the transdifferentiation of Th17 cells into Treg cells may contribute to the resolution of inflammation, presenting a therapeutic strategy for MS. To modulate this phenotypic shift in situ, a "Trojan horse"-like hybrid system, nanocapsule-coupled Th17 cells, is reported for MS treatment. Following intravenous injection into MS mice, the hybrid system efficiently transmigrates across the blood-brain barrier and homes to the inflamed MS niche. (Aminooxy)-acetic acid, a transdifferentiation in

Using a reactive emulsifier to construct simple and convenient nanocapsules loaded with lambda-cyhalothrin to achieve efficient foliar delivery and insecticidal synergies.

Nanocapsules are a promising controlled release formulation for foliar pest control. However, the complicated process and high cost limit widespread use in agriculture, so a simpler and more convenient preparation system is urgently needed. Meanwhile, under complex field conditions, the advantageous mechanism of the nanosize effect and sustained release have no quantitative and detailed study. In this study, a reactive emulsifier (OP-10) is used to participate in the interfacial polymerization of the nanoemulsion, and polymer nanocapsules loaded with lambda-cyhalothrin (NCS@LC) are quickly and

PEGylated meloxicam-loaded nanocapsules reverse in vitro damage on caspase activity and do not induce toxicity in cultured human lymphocytes and mice.

Meloxicam is an anti-inflammatory drug that has a potential protective effect in many common diseases. However, this molecule is quickly eliminated from the body due to it short half-life. One way to overcome this problem is to incorporate meloxicam into lipid-core nanocapsules which may increase it anti-inflammatory effects. In view of this, the objective of this work was to evaluate the potential toxicity and safety of these novel nanomaterials both in vitro and in vivo. Here, we evaluated the effects of uncoated meloxicam-loaded nanocapsules (M-NC), uncoated and not loaded with meloxicam or

Two photon-responsive gold nanocapsules enable targeted photothermal hyperthermia of chemoresistant melanoma: injection-route-dependent efficacy and renal evidence of fragment clearance.

Melanoma is a highly aggressive skin cancer that often develops resistance to chemotherapy, underscoring the need for new treatment strategies. Here we evaluate plasmonic gold nanocapsules (AuNCs) as photoresponsive agents for two-photon luminescence-assisted photothermal therapy in chemoresistant melanoma models. The performance of the AuNCs was assessed in two-dimensional cell cultures, three-dimensional paclitaxel-resistant B16-F10 melanoma spheroids, and a subcutaneous melanoma mouse model under near-infrared excitation. In vitro, AuNCs alone exhibited no cytotoxicity, but under 830 nm two

Transition-metal salt-containing silica nanocapsules elaborated via salt-induced interfacial deposition in inverse miniemulsions as precursor to functional hollow silica particles.

Aqueous core-silica shell nanocapsules were successfully prepared using liquid droplets containing transition-metal salt as templates in inverse miniemulsions. The formation of the silica shell was attributed to the interfacial deposition of silica species induced by the presence of the transition-metal salt. In addition to the control of the particle morphology, the incorporated transition-metal salts could be used to derivatize the particles and confer additional functionalities to the hollow silica particles. To demonstrate the derivatization, the magnetic hollow silica particles were prepa

Physicochemical characterization, release profile, and antibacterial mechanisms of caffeic acid phenethyl ester loaded in lipid nanocapsules with lauric acid and glycerol monolaurate.

Numerous studies have demonstrated the biological activities of caffeic acid phenethyl ester (CAPE), including antibacterial, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory properties. However, the application of CAPE is limited by its low bioavailability and stability. In this work, we designed a CAPE loaded nanocapsule system by using polyoxyl-15-hydroxystearate, coconut oil and lecithin (LE)/lauric acid (LA)/glycerol monolaurate (GML) to improve the release rate of CAPE. The Blank-GML-lipid nanocapsules (BK-GML) and CAPE loaded BK-GML (CAPE-GML) were mainly assembled by hydrophobic forces and electrost

Hierarchical pluronic F127-chitosan hydrogel embedding gallium-doxorubicin co-loaded nanocapsules enables dual-responsive release and apoptosis in triple-negative breast cancer cells.

Localized chemotherapy is hampered by rapid clearance, systemic toxicity, and poor tumor retention, motivating depots that maintain site-specific exposure. We introduce a hierarchical nanocapsule-in-hydrogel platform built from chitosan conjugated to Pluronic F127 derivatives for co-delivery of doxorubicin (DOX) and gallium nitrate (Ga(NO₃)₃). Succinic-acid-modified F127-chitosan (SAF-C) self-assembles into ∼34 nm nanocapsules, while alanine-modified F127-chitosan (ADF-C) forms an injectable, thermogelling network via covalent crosslinking. Embedding SAF-C within ADF-C yields a dual-responsive

The Association of Oleic Acid and Dexamethasone Acetate into Nanocapsules Enables a Reduction in the Effective Corticosteroid Dose in a UVB Radiation-Induced Sunburn Model in Mice.

Dexamethasone has a high anti-inflammatory efficacy in treating skin inflammation. However, its use is related to the rebound effect, rosacea, purple, and increased blood glucose levels. Nanotechnology approaches have emerged as strategies for drug delivery due to their advantages in improving therapeutic effects. To reduce dexamethasone-related adverse effects and improve the anti-inflammatory efficacy of treatments, we developed nanocarriers containing this corticosteroid and oleic acid. Nanocapsules and nanoemulsion presented dexamethasone content close to the theoretical value and controll

In vitro interaction of polyethylene glycol-block-poly(D,L-lactide) nanocapsule devices with host cardiomyoblasts and Trypanosoma cruzi-infective forms.

Chagas disease, caused by the protozoan Trypanosoma cruzi, is an important public health problem in Latin America. Nanoencapsulation of anti-T. cruzi drugs has significantly improved their efficacy and reduced cardiotoxicity. Thus, we investigated the in vitro interaction of polyethylene glycol-block-poly(D,L-lactide) nanocapsules (PEG-PLA) with trypomastigotes and with intracellular amastigotes of the Y strain in cardiomyoblasts, which are the infective forms of T. cruzi, using fluorescence and confocal microscopy. Fluorescently labeled nanocapsules (NCs) were internalized by non-infected H9c

A bio-nanocapsule containing envelope protein domain III of Japanese encephalitis virus protects mice against lethal Japanese encephalitis virus infection.

An engineered bio-nanocapsule (BNC) comprising modified hepatitis B surface antigen L protein was used as a physical scaffold for envelope protein domain III (D3) of Japanese encephalitis virus (JEV). At the N terminus, the BNC contained a two-tandem repeat of the Z domain (ZZ) derived from Staphylococcus aureus protein A (ZZ-BNC). The Lys-rich ZZ moiety exposed on the surface of ZZ-BNC was used for chemical conjugation with the JEV D3 antigen, which had been expressed and purified from Escherichia coli. Immunization of mice with D3 loaded on the surface of ZZ-BNC (ZZ-BNC:D3) augmented serum I

Nanocapsule-based vitamin B12 as a novel strategy against vancomycin-induced nephrotoxicity: Targeting oxidative stress, ER stress, inflammation, and fibrosis in rats.

Vancomycin (VCM) is an essential glycopeptide antibiotic employed for treating methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus infections. However, its clinical use is limited by nephrotoxicity. Vitamin B12 (Vit B12) possesses antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-fibrotic properties that may protect against nephrotoxicity. However, Vitamin B12 bioavailability is inherently low. Therefore, nanotechnology-based approaches have been employed to overcome these limitations. Our research examined the formulation and preclinical assessment of Vitamin B12 nanocapsules (Vit B12 NC) against VCM-induced oxidati
