Rhabdomyomas are the most common primary cardiac tumors in childhood. They usually occur on ventricular and septal walls. In approximately half of the cases, rhabdomyoma is associated with tuberous sclerosis. Most rhabdomyomas regress during the first years of life. We present MRI findings of fatty replacement of the myocardium which was probably after spontaneous regression of solid mass (rhabdomyoma) in a 16-year-old boy with tuberous sclerosis.

In this study 146 patients with a human papilloma virus infection of the cervix detected on cervical smear. This infection was at the worst associated with CIN 1 or CIN 2. No treatment was carried out on these patients except for advising the use of condoms. Among the 123 women whose diagnosis was CIN 1, 65.2% of them had a negative smear within 18 months. Twenty-seven patients with ovarian cancer underwent unilateral salpingo-oophorectomy and were followed for 12-215 months (mean 80) after completion of therapy. Branchial cleft cysts typically present as a persistent mass in the anterior triangle of the neck. Diagnosis is made by imaging and fine needle aspiration cytology and is confirmed histologically after excision. We report a branchial cleft cyst in a 27-year-old woman that resolved spontaneously over several weeks without surgical intervention. To the best of our knowledge this is the first report of such a case.

We report the case history of a patient with complete spontaneous regression of metastatic cutaneous melanoma with parotid and neck lymph node metastases. Complete spontaneous regression of metastatic melanoma is very rare, with an estimated incidence of 0.22%-0.27%. We review the literature on this subject. Elucidation of the process of spontaneous regression may offer the possibility of improved methods of treating and preventing cancer.

We report a case of a neonate with multiple cardiac masses, cyanosis, and a heart murmur. Arterial desaturation was the result of right-to-left shunting at the foramen ovale level caused by tricuspid regurgitation. Three right-sided cardiac masses were detected by echocardiography. By 2 weeks of age the patient had complete resolution of his cyanosis and improved tricuspid regurgitation following the normal decrease in pulmonary vascular resistance. At 2 years of age, he has no cardiovascular symptoms and the masses are calcified and have no hemodynamic consequences.

A boy with a large intracranial glioma of the optic tract and probable neurofibromatosis of the first type was observed for 8 years since the age of 7 years. A series of MR scans was made over this period. A notable decrease of the tumor size was seen on its signals on the MR scans. This was paralleled by an improvement of the vision acuity, color field, and visual field on the involved eye.
