Radioimmunotherapy (RIT) with 131-rituximab is a safe and effective treatment in patients with relapsed, refractory follicular lymphoma. The authors demonstrated the first case of 131-rituximab treatment in the patient with relapsed non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL) in Thailand. There was no immediate complication after treatment. We report here a patient with relapsed follicular lymphoma who developed secondary acute myeloid leukaemia 15 months after radioimmunotherapy (RIT) with (90)Y-ibritumomab tiuxetan, the fifth described case to date. We review the literature for the potential causal relationship between RIT and secondary myelodysplastic syndromes/acute myeloid leukaemia.
