LinfCul1 is a key component of the E3 ubiquitin ligase complex (LinfCRL1) in Leishmania infantum, which interacts with LinfSkp1 and LinfRbx1 at the N- and C-termini, respectively. The immune status in 48 typhoid fever (TF) patients has been studied. As revealed in this study, during the fever period of the disease pronounced disturbances in immune homeostasis are observed, which are manifested by T lymphopenia, the prevalence of suppressor subpopulations of T lymphocytes with the prevalence of T helpers, a considerable rise in the level of circulating immune complexes (CIC), mainly highly pathogenic medium- and low-molecular complexes. At the early period of convalescence the preservation of all these signs is indicative of fact that the treat of TF relapse is present.

T lymphocyte immunoregulatory subsets (T4+ and T8+ cells) have been analysed in eight cases of hepatosplenic schistosomiasis mansoni, and compared to parallel analyses of seven intestinal Schistosoma mansoni-infected patients and four uninfected control subjects. The mean T4+:T8+ ratio in hepatosplenic cases was markedly less than observed in other groups (0.94 vs 1.86 vs 2.22, respectively). The reaction of antigen-dependent E-rosette formation with the hemolytic streptococcal antigen in erysipelas patients is indicative of the ambiguous role of the specific immunological transformation of the body in respect of the infective agent antigens in different clinical forms of the disease and is of prognostic importance as regards the chronic transformation of the infectious process and the development of the relapses of the disease.

Receptors for IgM were detected on peripheral blood and tonsil human lymphocytes by a rosette technique with ox red blood cells (ORBC) coated with anti-ORBC rabbit IgM. A 20-year-old female presented to the Pulmonary Medicine Department with complaints of fever, left sided chest pain and progressive dyspnoea of four months duration. Radiological examination revealed a mass lesion with massive pleural effusion and rib erosion. Histopathology showed neoplastic cells with scanty cytoplasm, hyperchromatic nuclei and rosette formation suggestive of Ewing sarcoma. The rarity of this tumor and its unusual presentation prompted this report.

Lynch syndrome (LS) is an autosomal dominant cancer predisposition syndrome caused by germline mutations in DNA mismatch repair genes or, less commonly, EPCAM deletions. Mononuclear cells from seven patients with hairy cells leukaemia were examined for features suggestive of either a lymphocytic or monocytic origin. Rosette-forming glioneuronal tumor (RGNT) of the 4th ventricle is a newly described WHO grade I brain tumor included in recent WHO classification of CNS tumors. It is a biphasic tumor thought to originate from pluripotent progenitor cells of subependymal plate. Intra-operative diagnosis plays an important role, as complete surgical excision is the treatment of choice. We are reporting a case of RGNT in a 19 years-old young male emphasizing the intra-operative pathological pointers and their role in accurate diagnosis for the suitable surgical intervention.

INTRODUCTION: Rosette-forming glioneuronal tumors (RGNTs) that do not involve the fourth ventricle are rare. RGNTs were originally thought to be exclusively localized into the fourth ventricle but were found in various anatomical localizations.
MATERIAL AND METHODS: We review the literature and found 32 cases of this particular RGNT. The outcome was excellent with no mortality reported after surgical treatment. Only two patients had received adjuvant therapy for progression. We added one case of a RGNT located in the cerebellar hemisphere.

A 32-year-old woman presented with a 2-month history of episodic headache, cervical pain and neck rigidity. Neurological examination showed a moderate dysmetria. The specificity of monoclonal antibodies (MoAbs) ICO in normal T and B cell differentiation has been described. The use of standard MoAbs CD19, CD5, CD7 was taken into account in modification of immunologic classification of lymphoblastic tumors. Analysis in 336 patients with ALL has been done to compare the use of E-rosettes, xenogeneic antisera and MoAbs in T-cell leukemia and lymphoma diagnosis. There are evident differences in the frequencies of some immunological subvariants of lymphoblastic leukemia as compared to lymphoma.

Three volunteers were inoculated with different numbers of infective larvae of periodic Brugia malayi from an artificially infected Meriones unguiculatus. At different times after inoculation, the volunteers developed clinical manifestations such as chills, fever, cough, asthma, skin itching, edema, adenolymphangitis and eosinophilia.
