PURPOSE: Comparison of outcomes of localized eyelid sebaceous carcinoma (American Joint Committee on Cancer (AJCC) 8th edition categories T1, T2, T3) following initial management with posterior lamellar resection (PLR) versus (vs) lumpectomy (nonposterior lamellar resection, non-PLR).
METHODS: This was a retrospective, comparative, interventional case series. Of 54 patients, 26 were managed by PLR and 28 by nonPLR. The main outcome measures were vision loss, orbital exenteration, lymph node metastasis, and remote metastasis were the main outcome measures.

PURPOSE: To determine the epidemiologic and clinical characteristics of patients with malignant eyelid tumors in Hong Kong.
METHODS: A computerized retrieval system was used to identify all patients with histologically confirmed malignant eyelid tumors residing in Western Kowloon and the Southern New Territories, Hong Kong, during the 13-year period from 1997 to 2009. Hidradenocarcinoma (HAC) is a rare malignant neoplasm originating from eccrine sweat glands, often presenting diagnostic challenges because of its resemblance to other malignancies, particularly breast cancer when occurring in the chest region. We report a case of follicular hybrid cyst arising in a nevus sebaceus. Histopathologic findings showed one part with the features of a trichilemmal cyst and the other part with those of a pilomatricoma. To our knowledge, this is the first case of follicular hybrid cyst associated with nevus sebaceus. We consider that the cyst in our case is derived from the hair matrix and from the follicular isthmus.

A total of 78 cases of adnexal tumors of the skin were examined with the use of monoclonal antibody against epithelial membrane antigen (EMA). The EMA reaction was confined to luminal surfaces and lateral borders of sweat glands, both eccrine and apocrine, being usually absent in ductal segments. Tuberous sklerosis is an autosomal dominant disease with a pleiotropic pattern of its clinical picture. The skin symptoms because of their early appearance are of great importance for the diagnosis of this disease, though not for evaluation of its progression and prognosis. Among the cutaneous lesions "white leaf-shaped macules" are the most frequent and earliest symptoms. Of similar importance is the "adenoma sebaceum", whereas the other skin signs are less relevant.
