In this study, Panax notoginseng samples were extracted by chloroform, ethanol and water, or by those extracted solution with 5% vanillin sulfuric acid to establish two kinds of UV fingerprint of P. notoginseng which were compared by applying the common and variation peak ratio dual index sequence analysis method and SIMCA software qualitative analysis. We report on the synthesis of gold nanoparticles (Au-NP) stabilized by a layer of mercapto and/or hydroxyl bola palmitic acid-tetrabutyl ammonium salts (TBAOH) which form nanosomes in water. Mixing both bola fatty acids in water in various proportions allowed to tune the nanoparticle diameter from 1 to 10 nm using NaBH(4) as a reductor. An azo-based dye (I) was designed for the detection of cyanide by utilizing a new indirect method. In the presence of Cu(II), compound I could give rise to visible red-to-yellow color change. The resultant yellow solution could change to red immediately upon the addition of trace cyanide, with the detection limit of 0.15 ppm, but no changes were observed in the presence of other anions, including Cl(-), I(-), IO(3)(-), SO(4)(2-), NO(2)(-), Br(-), H(2)PO(4)(-), F(-), SCN(-), HSO(4)(-), ClO(4)(-) and CN(-), making compound I a selective and sensitive cyanide chemosensor.

Two accurate, precise, rapid and economical methods viz. Absorption correction method and Dual wavelength method were developed for the estimation of Cefixime (CEF) and Erdosteine (ERDO) in capsule dosage form. In both the methods linearity was observed in the concentration range of 2-25 microg/ml for Cefixime and 3-37.5 microg/ml for Erdosteine. This paper describes a method for the determination of cyanide using in-capillary enzymatic reaction with rhodanese. Poorly absorbing cyanide is in rhodanese reaction transformed into highly absorbing thiocyanate that is further separated by capillary electrophoresis (CE) and determined spectrophotometrically at 200 nm. Lithiation/stannylation of optically active N-propargyloxazolidinones produced optically active alpha-oxazolidinonylallenylstannanes. A rapid, reliable and specific UV spectrophotometric method was developed to determine Phenilpropanolamine Hydrochloride (I), Caffeine (II) and Diazepam (III) formulated in tablets.
