PURPOSE: Treatment options for adrenocortical carcinoma (ACC), where mitotane remains a mainstay of therapy, are unsatisfactory. Response rates of ACC to immune checkpoint inhibition (ICI) are disappointing, and immune cells are scarce in ACC. Growth/differentiation factor 15 (GDF-15) is a cytokine impairing tumoural immune infiltration. Pure red cell aplasia (PRCA) is the most frequent autoimmune cytopenia associated with thymic tumors (TTs). In a nationwide retrospective study, we included 41 patients (22 women, median age 62 years). At PRCA diagnosis, the mean hemoglobin level was 6.6 ± 2.1 g/dL, and the reticulocyte count was 6 ± 5 × 109/L. BACKGROUND: Poncet's disease is a rare syndrome characterized by articular impairment in a form of rare tuberculid. One of the theories of its cause involves an autoimmune response induced by the intravesical administration of the Calmette-Guerin Bacillus or the treatment of bladder carcinoma. Furthermore, there may be an appearance of oligoarticular or polyarticular arthritis, beginning 1-3 months after the start of therapy. Few physicians know the disease and the literature related to that syndrome is scarce and restricted to case reports, which contributes to its under diagnosis.

The purpose of this study was to elucidate the effects of dietary sodium restriction on diurnal blood pressure (BP) variation in primary aldosteronism. We studied the diurnal variation in the systemic hemodynamic indices and in baroreflex sensitivity (BRS). We report a 74-year-old woman with progressive cognitial deterioration and changes in personality. She had no clinical signs of an inflammatory CNS process, but brain CT and MRI scans and cytologic examination of the CSF were initially indicative of encephalitis and ventriculitis.
